Master OSHA-compliant eye safety practices to prevent injuries from debris, chemicals, and radiation hazards on construction sites.

Training Objectives

  • Identify physical, chemical, and radiation hazards on construction sites
  • Select appropriate PPE including safety glasses, goggles, and face shields
  • Apply techniques to reduce eye strain during precision and digital tasks
  • Execute proper emergency response and eyewash flushing procedures
  • Match welding and cutting tasks with correct filter shade protection
  • Differentiate between first aid and OSHA-recordable eye injuries

Course Overview

On construction sites, eye hazards are constant—and often underestimated. Flying debris, chemical splashes, dust, and radiant energy can cause serious injuries in seconds. This course provides practical, OSHA-aligned training to help workers recognize risks, select proper protection, and respond effectively to incidents.

Participants will learn how to identify common jobsite eye hazards, including high-velocity particles, hazardous liquids, and exposure to radiant energy from welding and cutting operations. The training explains how these risks occur and how to prevent them through proper planning and protective measures.

A key focus is on selecting the right personal protective equipment (PPE). Learners will understand when to use safety glasses, goggles, or face shields—and why layering protection is often necessary. The course also covers correct filter shades for welding tasks to ensure adequate protection against harmful radiation.

Beyond prevention, the course prepares learners to respond to eye injuries. Participants will learn proper eyewash station use, including the critical steps for effective flushing, as well as how to determine when an injury requires reporting under OSHA guidelines.

Designed for construction workers, supervisors, and safety professionals, this course helps reduce injury risk, improve compliance, and promote a safer jobsite environment.
