Examination

The “PECB Certified ISO 45001 Lead Implementer” exam fully meets the requirements of the PECB Examination and Certification Programme (ECP).

The examination covers the following competency domains:

  • Fundamental principles and concepts of OH&S and OH&S management systems
  • Initiation of an OH&S MS implementation
  • Planning an OH&S MS implementation based on ISO 45001
  • Implementing an OH&S MS based on ISO 45001
  • OH&S MS performance evaluation
  • Continual improvement of an OH&S MS
  • Preparing for an OH&S MS certification audit

Successful completion of the exam validates the participant’s competency in implementing and maintaining occupational health and safety management systems aligned with ISO 45001 requirements.


Certification

Upon the successful completion of the exam, you can apply for one of the credentials shown in the table below. You will receive a certificate once you fulfill all the requirements related to the selected credential. The credentials in the PECB ISO 45001 certification scheme have the following requirements:

To be considered valid, the implementation activities should follow best practices and include the following:

  • Drafting an OH&S MS plan
  • Managing or leading an OH&S team
  • Initiating an OH&S MS implementation
  • Implementing an OH&S MS
  • Managing documented information
  • Monitoring OH&S MS performance
  • Performing continual improvement activities

General Information

  • Certification and examination fees are included with the training course
  • Participants receive over 450 pages of instructional materials with practical guidance and examples
  • A participation certificate of 31 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits will be issued
  • Candidates who do not pass the exam may retake it once free of charge within 12 months of the initial exam date
